YOUR DEATH?
2011, self-released
Buy it HERE or HERE.
A fresh collection of the usual Green Andy M.O.! There's instrumentals (in fact, I think most of them are instrumental, but then I've gotten much better at disguising my voice), and a few selections intended for a horror movie soundtrack that might still end up there. Buy it today!
LIENHOLDER
2010, self-released
Five new songs, most of which have been around in one form or another for a few years. Andy has a very subtle remixing hand. Except for "Oil Can". That thing is completely different from the song that was available on MySpace a few years ago.
THE DEATH OF STROLL
2009, self-released
Are there any other artists out there who create albums primarily to bait people into attending live shows? I doubt it, and it's probably because it doesn't work very well. Regardless, I keep attempting, and this album is one of the results. Longtime concert favorite "Whip Goat Girl" is released on album for the first time, although it's a very select group of people who are going to be excited about that.
JARGON
2009, self-released
Man, this album was a mistake and a half. The plan was to book a show (on 3/24/09, at Otto's Shrunken Head) and walk in with no set list, no songs prepared, and barely any instruments, and record the result. Well, in addition to all that, I also had barely any audience, which was just as well since the songs I came up with were terrible. Actually "Against the Will of Lou Reed" was an oldie from about 10 years previous, but it doesn't fare any better than the rest of this crap. I only listen to this one personally when I want to remind myself what to avoid on future Green Andy albums.
ALL TALK
2009, self-released
A bunch of rejected song ideas that were thrown on the heap while I was working on what was hoped to be a very good album, which has since been abandoned. I hope to get back to that masterpiece someday, but in the meantime this album of cast-offs has become surprisingly listenable. Or else my standards have dropped.
ONESIE
2009, self-released
The last album (for now) that I made a major print run of. Most of the copies were given away at shows, or tucked behind the plastic shields on ads in the subway trains. Back when I was printing out more physical discs, I tended to make the front cover artwork primarily white, to spare my printer ink. Smart, huh?
WRESTONOMIC
2009, self-released
An album of rarities and previously unreleased material, this album was culled together at the last second as an enticement to get people to attend Green Andy's 11/28/08 performance at Otto's Shrunken Head in New York City. That's right: I have to bribe my audience to show up. Anyway, this album includes the live favorite "Trcika Cash", and the track "Blonde Baby", which I'm not actually 100% sure I recorded. It's close enough to something I would have recorded, though. And I don't hear anyone else trying to take credit for it.
DUST BOWL
2008, self-released
An Instant Album, Dust Bowl was recorded between 9:10pm and 10:50pm on Monday, September 29th, 2008. It doesn't take that much more time to listen to than it did to make. Try to catch the split-second 'Hey Gone' sample near the end of 'Attar Resists'. If you don't know what I'm talking about, then you're not a real fan and I hate you.
ANCIENT SECRET
2008, self-released
Buy it HERE or HERE.
You know, it just occurred to me that I don't have a lot of songs whose titles start with the word 'The'. 'The Last Model' is a bit of an anomaly in my Green Andography. Anyway, this is just another Green Andy album. A lot of songs from here have ended up in my live shows, particularly 'Big Bad Book', which has shown up in more live shows than I can remember.
DRAMA FACE
2007, self-released
A true Green Andy gift. In spring of 2007, I walked around Union Square in New York City and handed out several hundred free copies of this album to skateboarding children and homeless people. It's not 100% necessary to have one, since all five tracks are available for free download here, but if you really do want a physical copy, I often include this free with other purchases. Otherwise, I recommend checking eBay.
ROGERS OF WAR
2007, self-released
I've been making music for a very long time, and every now and then I get a request from some of the more dedicated fans for some of my truly older material, so I've decided to relent, and give you a quick glimpse of my formative years. This album is a collection of songs I made between the ages of 17 and 21. My good friend and colleague Ted wrote the lyrics to "Won't Listen", but beyond that, it's all mine.
CHKA CHKAAA
2007, self-released
Every single copy of this CD was packaged by hand, with construction paper and glue, by yours truly. It was quite labor intensive, but seeing those smiles on my customers' faces was reward enough. Well, that and the $5 apiece they paid for them.
THE MESSAGE IS BLOOD
2006, self-released
Seriously, I myself don't even listen to this album. It's pure masochism.
1111011 JUSTICE
2006, self-released
One of two "mini-albums" released on Christmas Day 2006 (along with The Message Is Blood), even though it's pretty much the same length as every other Green Andy album. Unlike a lot of current Green Andy music, this album was recorded entirely on analog cassette. It didn't make too much difference in the end. "Laughtertron" is about a machine that induces laughter. I suppose that's a bit obvious. This album cover is totally my favorite ever. Well, maybe Abend is. No, it's this one. Hell, it's a tie.
ABEND
2006, self-released
Heather Pollock from Lo-Fi Sugar calls this album "...the full maturation of Green Andy. It has the stamp of sophistication and the mark of incredible inventiveness." Then again, she's a remarkably sweet girl, so it's hard to say if she was just being nice or not.
AND ENERGY
2005, Biv0uac Records
This is Green Andy's most abstract work, created as part of Bivouac's snapshot of today's experimental music community. Well, 2005's experimental music community. It used to be downloadable through Biv0uac's website, but time marches on, and not every website survives the journey.
GTALLERY
2005, self-released
Buy it HERE.
Dogmatik Magazine says "Listen to it and be prepared to confront music without boundaries, with few rules, and hardly any certitude." Green Andy's best seller to date, although honestly the difference between Green Andy's best seller and Green Andy's worst seller can be measured in the dozens.
ANDEE E.P.
2004, self-released
Wow, an E.P. for me ends up being about seven minutes long. Still, with only four tracks on it, this might be my most consistent collection of material ever. EVER.
THE MAYBE PILE
2004, self-released
Dead Angel Zine calls it "fractured sound collage dementia...worth checking out"! This album contains 'Pig Name', which is a longtime concert favorite. Favorite of Green Andy's, anyway. It's very easy to perform.
GET READY TO PANIC PARTY!
2003, Finding Datura Records
A rare split 3" CD from Green Andy and the Viscous Elvis Cyst. I don't know too many people who have this. I have one, but then, I'm Green Andy. It's out of print now. The Viscous Elvis Cyst were a pretty good band. They're not around anymore, but they still have a MySpace page you can check out, if you'd like to hear what their half of the album would have sounded like.
CORRECT
2003, Finding Datura Records
If you don't own this classic 2nd Green Andy album on CD, then you're shit out of luck, because it's no longer in print. Finding Datura Records now sells discount furniture. This album was once sent as a gift to Skin Graft Records, who responded with "songwriting tips". Their advice has been ignored. Assholes.
CONQUISTADOR
2002, MP3.com
Green Andy's very first album, created about 45 seconds after he first saw MP3.com and realized he could sell music online himself. It's no longer available there, since MP3.com no longer sells CDs. All nine tracks were composed and recorded in the sequence they appear on the album, all within about 10 minutes of each other. Green Andy works fast.
